Held on December 10th, 2021, this event was an inagural fashion show hosted by the Vignelli Center at RIT. The goal of the event was to utilize teachings of the ever iconic duo, Lella and Massimo Vignelli, to inspire new collections from local and student fashion designers.
BRANDING
We recruited graphic design students Ana Videto and Zoë Murray to help us build the visual branding for the event.
My co-producer, Maddy Schoenfeld, and I built the event from the ground up, organizing and developing everything from the venue space to the web/social presence and everything in between.
EDUCATION
We asked participating designers to come view the archives in person and taught them about the Vignelli Legacy.
PROMOTION
We shot, edited, and distributed promotional content of the designers
We recruited Isabelle Qiu, a visual communication design major, to help us design a web presence for the event. View the site here.
PRODUCTION
During the final week of preproduction, we went into overdrive to pull everything together.
We worked with an amazing team of Magic Studios students who helped us execute our lighting design, floor plan, and LED screen testing.
We printed posters, stickers, and programs for distribution before and during the event.
We created Production briefs for every party involved and held a dress rehearsal.
We set up two print exhibitions, one about the history of Vignelli clothing and one of images I took highlighting Lella Vignelli's Jewelry.
EVENT
In the end we managed to pull off a very successful show that both the audience and the participants were excited by. Next year's show is already in the works!
